ABOUT MY ART IN GENERAL :
'Everyday Mythologies'
I invite you to a visual journey of the myths we - mankind - 'weave' moment-by-moment by our thoughts and actions. An alternative title would also be : The collective dreaming...
I spotted 2 main threads in the mesh of collective myth :
religious myths
&
popular myths (such as vanity, rat race, money-as our new urban gods, consumerism etc.)
My object art is made from found objects or collected objects from the various flea-markets of Europe, Africa & North America. The idea is that none of the found objects will end up with the same function as originally they were intended. Under my 'menace' a 19th c. elegant restaurant menu holder can turn into an antique frame, or a piece of furniture ornament become a woodoo altar-piece..........anything can happen....the myth of metamorphosis......just like the universe....in constant motion and dynamism.
